I was recently contacted by Pernaton to ask if I would be interested in reviewing some of their products in relation to how they might help my fibro. I am always quite sceptical of trying new things, as often you are recommended things that are never going to work, but after hearing some good things about this product I was willing to give it a go.
I was sent two products, the gel ( a cooling rub for joints) and the gel forte (a heat lotion for muscles). I can honestly say I was impressed with both products. Pernaton is a product range which incorporates Perna in each product. Perna is an extract from New Zealand Green Lipped Mussels.
The Gel Forte has worked wonders on my sore shoulder muscles, which is where most of my pain radiates from, relieving the aches and pains after a long day. It applies to the skin in a smooth lotion and absorbs well when massaged in. It has a distinct aroma which I actually prefer to other lotions I have tried and the scent does disappear on the skin after a while. My husband often rubs heat lotion into my shoulders and back, as I have a limited range of motion in one of my shoulders, and he said he preferred this new lotion to others he has used, saying it was smoother and not as potent in smell. You can purchase a 125ml bottle of Gel Forte for around £12 online.
The gel is one of the first I have used for joint pain as I suffer more with muscular pain, but about a week or so before being contacted by Pernaton my hands, especially my joints in my fingers and wrists, began to start causing me considerable pain. I had used heat lotion but that hadn’t worked and after applying cold the pain would reduce but quickly reappear. When I received the Gel for joints I was eager to try it and I wasn’t disappointed. It eased my pain within a few minutes and lasted several hours before I needed to reapply. I rubbed a small amount in to my hands, left it to air dry and within a few minutes began to feel some relief. Like the gel forte it does have a distinct smell which dissipates and applies smoothly to the skin. I now carry the gel in my bag to use on my hands and ankles when pain begins to grow. You can purchase a 125ml bottle for around £10 online.
Overall I would recommend Pernaton Gel and Gel Forte, I already have to my friends and family and will be buying some more when my current bottles run out.
