I love books and, whether it is a paperback or kindle book, I am constantly reading. I have hundreds of books I could share with you and will be starting a book of the month review post this month.
Today I am supposed to be sharing my top 10 favourite books, which is a challenge in itself as it is so hard to choose, but I have decided to share only a few as I have only got a limited time to write today.
So my all time favourite books have to be the Twilight Saga by Stephanie Myer. These books gripped me and I just loved the plot. I much prefer to read books before I see films, I like to imagine the characters and setting for myself.
My next favourite books are by Cathy Glass. She writes about her time as a foster carer and the stories are both heartbreaking and joyful at the same time. I have always been interested in fostering and love to read books on how fostering can help children in need. These books are definitely not for the faint hearted and will garuntee a good cry.
I also love the Green Rider series by Kristen Britain. My husband asked me to read the first book a few Christmas’ ago and I said I would but pushed it aside as I had other books to read. I finally started reading them last Christmas and omg had I been missing out!! They are amazing; yes they are set in another world, yes they are based on fantasy and not really my type of book, but they have a strong female lead and a bit of romance thrown in too which hooked me into the books. They are well written and definitely books you can’t put down. I can’t wait for the next book to be published in 2017!!
Another set of books I recently rediscovered were the Phillip Pullman Northen Lights trilogy. Now lots of people have recommended these over the years but I wasn’t really interested until I was sat at the inlaws and they had a copy on their bookshelf. I needed some new books so thought I would give them a try. I haven’t quite finished but I would say they are really good and I wish I had read them when I was younger.
Some of my other favourite books include Birdsong and The Girl at the Lion D’or by Sebastian Faulks. I think he has written some amazing books. I also like Micheal Morpurgo books as well as The Color Purple by Alice Walker and A Room with a View by E.M Forster.
As I said I will be reviewing some of my favourite books each month and will post again in the future about my favourite books as reading is a good way of distracting myself from the pain or a good way to spend those hours in the middle of the night when sleep is out of my grasp!
Let me know what your favourite books are or books you recommend for me to read.
